TIPS ON
Everyone has a bad day at work now and then. But how do you know when you should give your job a second chance, or when it’s really time to quit? Here are a few key tips to help you understand:
You are not happy going to work
Do you go to sleep every night dreading the next day at the office? If you truly, deeply dread those eight hours at the office, maybe it’s time to start looking for a new job.
You’re procrastinating a lot
Like a lot! Everyone procrastinates from time to time, but if you find yourself not engaged in your work at all then it’s a sign you don’t find it interesting any more.
Your mental health and energy levels suffer
Are your sick days adding up without any real reason? Are you resorting to unhealthy habits like drinking too much or eating junk food each night to get over a bad day at work? Are you working so many hours that you have no personal time to exercise, eat healthily or get enough sleep? Remember, if a job makes you sacrifice your wellness, then it’s not a good job.
You see no room for advancement
If you feel you’re wasting time in a position that doesn’t offer opportunities for growth, then you have to move on… Away from it! Save your time and energy for a company that supports the progress of your career, or grows with you.
The company culture isn’t a good fit for you
A toxic, oppressive and negative environment can bring you down and make you hate going to work every day. Or, if it’s a flexible, work-from-home environment that you crave, then you will probably never be satisfied no matter how much you like other aspects of your position. It’s time to consider jobs at other companies that will accommodate your preferred lifestyle.
